New Zealand was the backdrop for global innovation for IACC’s Australia Asia Pac Conference

Members from throughout the Australia’s, Pacific and Asia met in Auckland for two days of learning, networking and AAP Copper Skillet. Conference took place in February at Karstens Conference Centre and Cliftons Conference Centre, both in the heart of the CBD of Auckland. The chapter Copper Skillet took place at the fashionable restaurant also in the city. 

The 2-day conference, included educational sessions delivered both in person and remotely by presenters in the US and Sweden. Each day key note speakers and industry leaders held sessions on topics such as innovation, leadership, IACC’s Meeting Room of the Future™ findings, food and beverage, social media, evolving technology and expanding networking circles globally.

Hendrik Karsten, Chapter President commented “We chose New Zealand to provide a new destination for our Australia members to experience and also to support and promote Auckland which has two IACC certified properties. We ran a panel session with local presenters which represented the venue buyer community, destination representatives and city venues.”

During day two of the conference the Global Copper Skillet competition took place at the award winning Inti Restaurant, where the regional chapter finalists competed for the ultimate accolade, the being Dhruba Dutta Bhatta of MGSM Executive Hotel and Conference Centre, Sydney.
