IACC-Australia Asia Pacific Conference – Let’s invest in the Future Together!

 

“Let’s Invent Tomorrow” was the guiding principle of this exciting interactive program featuring speakers and IACC members from throughout Australia and Asia, joined by members form Europe and United States. Sydney played the perfect host to a group from the global IACC community!

The conference delivered a 2-day educational experience focusing on social media and disruptive technologies, developing the human side of selling and creating high performance individuals and team success and created debate and discussion on how to harness new technologies and develop strong creative leaders.

 

The jam-packed schedule started off with the Chef’s Copper Skillet competition,which saw ********* from ******** take the Junior title and ******* from ******* take the senior title. ***** and ***** will go on to compete in the global final in New York in April. The competition was compared and judged by visiting Ron Stoddard and Al Morgan, who manage the Americas and Global competition.

 

Day 1 saw a line up of three expert presenters, tackle the question of how disruptive technologies will impact professional and personal lives. Simon Abela, Marie-Claire Andrews and Jo-Ann Kelleway focused on how to embrace disruptive technologies and turn them to your advantage, including how to create a cost-effective iBeacon service in small to medium sized venues.

During the afternoon, attention switched to the subject of optimising staff performance and developing high performing teams, with a session delivered by Richard Mendelsohm.

 

The MGSM Executive Centre was the host venue for day one and ended a day of learning with an exceptional hospitality and dining. What was on the menu? Kangaroo of course!

Day 2 started with an enlightening tour of the HC Coombs Centre, organised by Andrew Thomas, and delegates got to experience the Reserve Bank of Australia venue, situated in a prime location in Sydney overlooking the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House.

Amanda, Rose, social media expert, led an insightful discussion on how to build a strong social media presence. Delegates were advised on how to avoid making common mistakes when developing a strong social media presence for the organisation.

 

The last session of the day focused on approaching to selling today and focused on buyer motivations and adopting the appropriate strategy to sell effectively, presented by Justin Tamsett.

Throughout the conference, IACC members were encouraged to create and share ideas, experience interactive learning, and obtain information in a range of areas affecting their business. In Sydney this January, they were certainly challenged to think differently!

This year’s conference tooks place across three unique IACC conference venues; MGSM Executive Conference Centres, Karstens Conference and Training Centre and H.C Coombs Centre.

The organising team, which included Issy De Castro, Jim Conway and Hendrik Karsten, were applauded for their exceptional contributions in organising the conference, by IACC’s President Alex Cabanas. Alex went on to highlight Syndey 2016 as the start of an exciting evolvement in the chapter’s annual members meeting and noted that all eyes were now focused on 2017!
