A Message from IACC Europe Chapter President Lotta Boman

I personally feel it is a very appropriate time to share the initiatives IACC has been spearheading around the world, in this newsletter.

I have often marvelled at the determination and resilience of the first crocuses we see poking through the snow and the feeling of anticipation and hope they signal for a bright Spring ahead. This is how I feel at this time, when I think about IACC’s community, our industry.

We are not out of the woods yet, not at all. But I do feel we know what the path to recovery is going to look like, even if we are not yet sure of our expected time of arrival. It’s this confidence that is changing my mood and that of colleagues I talk to.

For now, IACC’s European leadership and our volunteer groups, continue to mine for intelligence and innovation, that will support us preparing to return to busy venues, with happy attendees. The two guides for reimagining conference breaks and lunches published last week, are an excellent example of the power of the IACC community, coming together and sharing ideas and approaches that allow venues to design new ways to deliver exceptional meetings experiences!

The other indicator of our recovery is the announcement of the Knowledge Festival’s return this October. We have not met in person since Brussels in late 2019, 2 years since we were last together. I am ready to see everyone again, to make this an unforgettable reunion! Wishing each and every member in Europe a positive recovery to live meetings in the coming months ahead.

Kind regards,

Lotta Boman
